Formation of the Tribunal de Grande Instance with jurisdiction to judge crimes

The rules relating to the organization and operation of the criminal court ruling by a single judge are laid down by Articles 398 and 398-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Article L213-9

The code of criminal procedure sets the rules relating to the jurisdiction, organization and functioning of certain high courts:
1 ° In military matters in peacetime;
2 ° In economic and financial matters;
3 ° In health matters;
4 ° In matters of terrorism;
5 ° In matters of organized delinquency;
6 ° With regard to pollution of maritime waters by discharges from ships.
