PLEDGE RELATING TO A MOTOR VEHICLE
Section 2: Pledge on a motor vehicle
Article 2351
When it relates to a land motor vehicle or a registered trailer, the pledge is enforceable against third parties by the declaration which is made to the administrative authority under the conditions set by decree of the Council of State.
NOTE: Ordinance 2006-346 of 23 March 2006 art. 58: Article 2351 in its wording resulting from article 11 of ordinance 2006-346 will come into force on a date which will be fixed by decree and which cannot be later than July 1, 2008.

The realization of the pledge is subject, whatever the capacity of the debtor, to the rules provided for in articles 2346 to 2348.
