MOROCCAN COMPUTER LAW

The Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data promulgated by Decree No. 2-09-165, dated 21 May 2009 was published in the Official Bulletin n ° 5744 of June 18, 2009.

This law should be compared with the French Data Protection Act . It creates a National Commission for the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP), whose role is similar to that of the French CNIL, and which has significant powers.

This law harmonizes Moroccan law with the legislation of the European Union with regard to the processing of personal data.
