POSTAL AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS CODE

SECTION I: General provisions

Article L65

The fact of moving, deteriorating or degrading in any way an installation of a network open to the public or compromising the operation of such a network is punishable by a fine of 1,500 euros.
In the case of an installation comprising several cables, as many fines are pronounced as there are cables concerned.
The offense referred to in the first paragraph is not constituted if the location of the existing installations in the right-of-way of the works has not been brought to the attention of the company before the opening of the site.
Legal persons can be declared criminally liable under the conditions provided for by the

SECTION II: Criminal provisions

Article L66

Anyone who, by breaking wires, damaging devices or by any other means, voluntarily causes the interruption of telecommunications, is punished by three months’ imprisonment and a fine of 3,750 euros.

Article L67

Are punished by twenty years of criminal detention and a 4,500 euros fine, without prejudice to the penalties that could result from their complicity with the insurrection, individuals who, in an insurrectionary movement, have destroyed or made unfit for service one or more lines telecommunications, broken or destroyed devices, invaded, using violence or threats, one or more exchanges or telecommunications stations, those who have intercepted by any other means, with violence and threats, telecommunications or correspondence by telecommunications between the various agents of public authority or who have opposed with violence or threats to the re-establishment of telecommunications links.
