Liability regime applicable to services

Article L7

The liability of postal service providers within the meaning of Article L. 1 is

committed under the conditions provided for in Articles 1134 et seq. and 1382 et seq.

of the Civil Code for losses and damage occurring during the service.

However, this responsibility takes into account the characteristics of the shipments and the prices.

determines compensation ceilings.

Article L8

For direct damage caused by the delay in delivering a postal item, the

responsibility of postal service providers within the meaning of Article L. 1 is engaged

under the conditions provided for by articles 1134 et seq. and 1382 et seq. of the code

civil, if the service provider has subscribed to a commitment relating to the delivery time of this

mailing.

However, this responsibility takes into account the characteristics of the shipments and the prices.

Article L9

By marking, labeling, display or any other visible process

appropriate, postal service providers inform users of postal items

on prices, any limitations of contractual liability, the one-year period

during which all complaints are admissible and the special conditions of the

sale, in accordance with the terms set by order of the Minister responsible for the economy and

Minister for Posts, after consultation with the National Consumer Council.
